In Amarnath there is a cave in which there is a automatic formation of Lord Shiva in summer time. This cave is located in southern part of Kashmir Himalayas. In month of July-August there will be formation of lingam in the form of Lord Shivas Statue. This formation is going to start on Skandshasthi which is auspicious to Telugu people and going to end on Raksha Bandhan and registration starts from March 1st 2020.
Temple is developed and maintained by SASB (Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board) created in 2000 with governor of Jammu And Kashmir. One should complete some procedures to enter in to cave and to see Lord Shiva and this can be done before beginning of Yatra. Recently SASB board makes easy for implementation of this registration for family, friends and tourists from other countries. There is a online process for people living in other countries as NRI and also guidelines for registration
Commission approves exact schedule and different factors such as hindu calendar, snow treks and weather conditions. Number of days for opening of temple is decided by SASB board and this is strictly followed. On a average of 7500 pilgrims were allowed to see Lingam, this count is purely based on infrastructure availability. Recently going by helicopters to panjtarni is excluded. There are two tracks for this Yatra and they are Pahalgam-Chandanwani and Sonomarg-Baltal track
